VERTICAL WELLS AND RAISE-BORING

It originates from vertical drilling of inland mining operations, mainly for the connection between galleries at different levels to communicate and improve ventilation and exploitation of the mineral.

The system is based on the realization of an initial small diameter pilot hole / drill descending from the upper elevation, penetrating into the lower elevation gallery. At this point the tricone is replaced by an enlarger head of the final diameter and the upward reaming (“raise”) is carried out. One of the advantages of this system is that the drilling debris falls by gravity towards the lower gallery.

We also have experience and means for developing vertical wells by other traditional methods:

  • Drilling and casting
  • By mechanical means
